Magnesium Stearate is a plant-derived anti-caking agent that prevents powder clumping whilst creating smooth, silky texture in mineral makeup formulations. This vegan ingredient enhances powder adhesion and application performance at 0.5–3% usage rates.

It functions as both an anti-caking agent and lubricant in powder cosmetics, coating individual particles to reduce friction and create uniform powder flow during manufacturing and application.

Repackaged from professional-grade stock into formulator-friendly sizes, so you can test your formula before committing to scale.

For Formulators

Add as part of your dry blend with other powder ingredients at 0.5–3%. Works well alongside Acacia Senegal Gum for binding and texture in pressed powders and mineral makeup.

Why Kalós Exists

Kalós started with a simple frustration: the best cosmetic ingredients were either locked behind bulk-order minimums meant for factories, or scattered across overseas suppliers with shipping timescales that killed momentum on a new formula.

So we built what we wished existed — a single South African source that finds, tests, and repacks the same ingredients used by established beauty brands, sized for the way independent formulators actually work.

Every ingredient on our shelves is chosen for quality first, then made accessible through smaller batch sizes, transparent sourcing, and pricing that does not punish you for formulating in small runs.

We are based in Kempton Park, Gauteng, and ship nationwide. Every ingredient comes with batch documentation on request, and our team is available for formulation guidance whether you are mixing your first emulsion or scaling for production.

Whether you are mixing your first emulsion or scaling a proven formula, these are the questions we get most often from our community.

Yes — in fact, that is exactly how most stable formulations are built. Emulsifiers bring your oil and water phases together; emollients sit in the oil phase to deliver texture, slip, and skin feel. Our range is designed so ingredients work together across emulsion types. Each product page lists recommended HLB ranges and typical use levels to help you start testing with confidence.
Most ingredients start from sample-friendly sizes — often as little as 25g or 50ml — so you can test a formula before committing capital to a larger batch. No bulk minimums, no wholesale account required. As your formulation scales, the same ingredient is available in larger repacks.
Always — without exception. Every ingredient we source and repackage is cruelty-free, and we vet suppliers on origin and manufacturing practice before listing a product. Supporting documentation such as COAs and MSDS is available on request.
Currently we ship nationwide across South Africa via courier, with delivery estimates shown at checkout based on your postcode. We do not yet offer international shipping due to the regulatory complexity of exporting cosmetic raw materials.
Every product page states the grade, concentration, and recommended use level so you are never guessing. For actives such as Glycolic Acid 70%, we include dilution guidance for common finished-product concentrations.
